2 Things before I Forget

Two days ago a conversation between Layla and Izzy at Target

Izzy-Mom's older
Layla- NO Dad's older
Izzy-huh uh
Layla- uh huh
Izzy- huh uh
Layla- uh huh

(this goes on for a bit while I'm getting the two little ones situated in the cart)

Me- What are you two arguing about?
Layla- Izzy says you were borned out first, but I told her Daddy was and she won't believe me.
Izzy- (in complete exasperation) Will you please tell her you were borned out first!
Me-Layla, Izzy is right, I am 10 months older than Daddy.
Layla- Then why is his head so much bigger than yours?
Me- (Laughing so hard that the employees are all turning and staring as I walk through the store with four kids, two of whom have their arms crossed over their chests.)

2. Addison spilled her bowl of dry cereal on the floor and I am sitting there trying to coax my stubborn two year old to pick it all up.

Addison- I can't DOOO eet (it)
Me- Yes you can
(she continues to stallfor a good 5 minutes, then finally gets on her hands and knees to my utter happiness that she is finally giving in and going to clean it up)

Addison- " Yook Mom (look mom), I shakey booottttooommmmm (in sing-song voice as she wiggles her little tush)

There are days that are so hard that I just want to quit this job. Then I get these little reminders every now and then of what a gift God has given me, in each and every one of their little smiles, and silly things they say.
